MP Oliver Letwin visited victims of flooding in Alweston on Saturday.
He said: “I had a very useful discussion with local residents about the problem of flooding that occurs when the stream at Alweston gets too full.
“Residents of the close nearby are clearly very concerned about the water and mud that head their way when this happens.
“I am glad that representatives of the county council are visiting the village to discuss whether there are feasible solutions.
“Having visited also the lower part of the village, I can see that this is not a simple problem to resolve.
“I will be back in touch with the residents once I have heard the conclusions of the county’s experts.”
